Thank you for posting this. What is interesting to me is that Ron Paul and his libertarian brethren are the only "mainstream" group that is talking about this trend, in a very critical way. They want the government out of this role immediately, never mind the short term hardships. This is also the argument they make for not authorizing the raising of the debt ceiling - even if we suffer in the short term, this will liberate us in the long term. It is disheartening that these folks are the only ones to at least touch on this.
